Welcome to Tailored Tails Grooming LLC!
We at Tailored Tails are dedicated to providing a calm and personalized grooming experience for your dog. Please take a moment to review our grooming policies and disclaimers, which are designed to ensure the best possible service and care. By signing this form, you agree to our policies and disclaimers.

1. Appointment Scheduling, Cancellations/No-Shows & Inclement Weather

  • Appointments: All grooming services are by appointment only. Please reach out ahead of time to schedule a service via text (preferred), online booking request, phone call, email, etc.

  • Walk in services are not available.

  • A valid credit/debit card is required to be saved to our secure booking system in order to book an appointment.

  • For the safety of your pet, pedestrians and our neighbors, all pets must be wearing an appropriate leash or in a travel crate for drop off and pick up.

  • Early Arrivals: Please come to your scheduled appointment exactly on time. Unless previously discussed and confirmed on our end, we ask that you do not drop your dog off early.

  • Late Arrivals: If you arrive 15 minutes or more after your scheduled appointment time, we will not be able to complete the scheduled services. In this case, we reserve the right to reschedule or shorten the grooming session. (ie; Full Groom shortened to a Bath & Trim. You will be charged the full price of the originally booked service). Same-day rescheduled appointments due to late arrival will be charged the full price of the missed appointment.

  • Late Pick-Ups: In order to keep our services stress free, dogs must be picked up promptly after services are completed. You will receive a text message 20 minutes before your dog’s services are completed.

  • A 15 minute grace period is allowed after your scheduled pick-up time.

  • After the 15 minute grace period, a $15 fee will be charged. An additional $15 will be charged for every 15 minutes your dog remains in the salon.

  • Cancellations/No-Shows: To maintain our schedule, we require at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations.

    • Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur the charge of the full price of the originally booked service (unless we can fill the space with another dog).

    • No-shows (ie; not showing up for your scheduled appointment with no prior notice given) will be charged 100% of the scheduled grooming cost.

    • We reserve the right to require prepayment if deemed necessary.

    • After 2 no-shows, we kindly ask clients to seek grooming services elsewhere.

  • Inclement Weather: In the event of severe weather, Tailored Tails Grooming LLC will make the decision to cancel/reschedule appointments with no penalties to the client. If the client feels they cannot safely travel to their appointment time due to severe weather conditions, please let us know as soon as possible.

  • Texting/Marketing Consent: By agreeing to this form, you allow Tailored Tails Grooming LLC to send you text messages, emails, and/or phone calls pertaining to your appointments, and/or marketing messages when available.

2. Vaccinations, Behavior, Safety & Health Concerns

  • Tailored Tails Grooming LLC requires all dogs to have their Rabies vaccine up to date in order to receive any services with us. New York state law requires all dogs 4 months and older to have their Rabies vaccine.

  • With a written statement from your veterinarian, due to health complications, certain dogs (ie; senior dogs) may be exempt from requiring the Rabies vaccine.

  • Behavior Issues: If your dog exhibits aggressive or overly fearful behavior that compromises either our own or your dog’s safety, we reserve the right to stop the grooming service at any time.

    • If we are unable to complete the grooming (for example; only being able to complete a bath when a haircut is scheduled), you will still be responsible to pay for the portion of the service rendered.

  • No Aggressive Dogs: We have a strict no aggressive dog policy. We will not accept dogs who have a bite history. If your dog shows unwarranted aggression at any point, you will be asked to pick up your dog immediately and pay for the full service scheduled.

  • If your dog is uncomfortable with certain grooming procedures, please inform us ahead of time before any services are completed. We are willing to work with dogs who, for example, may be scared of the dryer, and would love to show them that grooming isn’t so scary after all and can be a fun positive experience! However, we may recommend an alternative professional if we cannot safely continue the service.

  • We prefer to work with as little restraint as possible on each dog to keep things stress free. For safety reasons, we may need to implement special handling procedures which may include the use of muzzles, e-collars (plastic head cones), body harnesses, belly band supports, groomer’s helper device, etc.

  • Health Concerns: If your dog has any health conditions that may impact the grooming process (ie; skin allergies, ear infections, etc.), please let us know before the appointment. We will adjust our grooming techniques accordingly to ensure your pet’s safety and comfort.

  • We kindly ask that you do not stay in the shop to watch your dog get groomed. Having the owner present while being groomed can often stress the dog out and cause them to be distracted which could potentially result in injury or other dangerous scenarios. We ask this for the safety of everyone involved. Thank you for your understanding!

3. Matted/Tangled Coats

  • Matted/Tangled Coats: A dog with knots/tangles/mats can be in pain and uncomfortable. Usually, under matted coats, the skin can be in poor condition due to lack of circulation. Poor condition includes but is not limited to: nicks, scrapes, abrasions, sores, bruising, irritation, etc. If your dog’s coat is severely matted, we will do our best to carefully and safely remove the mats; however, matted dogs often require additional time and care.

    • For extensive matting, a total shave-down is necessary for your dog’s comfort and safety. We do not brush out matted dogs. If your dog comes in for a service presenting in this sort of condition, depending on the severity, extensive matting removal may alter your final price, which may be different from your originally quoted price. This charge will be discussed with you prior to grooming.

4. Flea Policy

  • Fleas: If we find an excess amount of fleas on your dog during their appointment, the service will be stopped, and your dog will be sent home as is. You will be expected to pay the full cost of the scheduled appointment. The appointment will be rescheduled to complete the grooming at a later time once the fleas have been treated for.

5. Payment Policy & Pricing Increases

  • Accepted Payment Methods: We accept cash, check, credit/debit cards, and Apple Pay/Google Pay.

  • Gratuities: If you are happy with the service provided, tips are always appreciated, but not required.

  • Price Estimates: Prices vary based on the breed, size, temperament, coat condition at check-in, time spent on the service and the specific grooming services requested/desired haircut. An estimate will be provided before the appointment, and any significant changes will be communicated before proceeding with the grooming.

    • Add-ons are additional services that can/may be provided during your dog’s appointment, such as a deep conditioning mask, paw/nose balm, etc. The prices will vary depending on which you’d like/are required. More information on what we offer can be found on our “Services” tab on our website.

    • Tailored Tails Grooming LLC must charge as per NYS law tax for services completed, which is not included in the original quote received.

    • Cash/check/debit card payment is preferred to avoid a card processing fee. If you are using a credit card, a percentage of the total is charged in order to process the payment with a credit card.

  • Pricing Increases: Tailored Tails Grooming LLC reserves the right to raise the price of services when deemed necessary. A courtesy message will be given to clients if/when this occurs before their next appointment.

6. Photography & Social Media

  • Photography Consent: By agreeing to this form, you consent to allowing us to take photos of your dog at any time during their appointment with us. These photos may be used on our website, social media, client records and marketing materials.

    • If you do not wish for your dog’s photo to be shared, please let us know.

7. Liability Disclaimer

  • Owner’s/Guardian’s Responsibility: The dog owner/guardian acknowledges that they are solely responsible for the health, safety and overall well being of their dog.

  • Injury or Damage: While we take every precaution to avoid grooming inflicted injuries, sometimes accidents happen. (ie; a nicked ear)

    • If a dog requires emergency medical attention during the grooming process (ie; suddenly collapsing/becoming unresponsive, non grooming related injury), the dog owner allows Tailored Tails Grooming LLC to take the dog to a veterinarian they deem appropriate to oversee the dog’s well being. The dog owner/guardian agrees to cover all associated veterinary expenses in this type of situation.

    • The dog owner/guardian understands that grooming can sometimes reveal underlying health issues, and accepts that Tailored Tails is not responsible for these conditions (ie; a matted dog receives a shave down, the skin is bruised due to tight matting and reveals a festering hot spot). The dog owner/guardian agrees to cover all the associated veterinary expenses in this type of situation.

    • If the dog receives a grooming related injury, the dog owner/guardian allows Tailored Tails Grooming LLC to administer basic first aid. In the event the grooming related injury requires further medical attention, Tailored Tails Grooming LLC will compensate the medical expenses DIRECTLY to the vet clinic and ONLY related to the grooming injury in question. (ie; A dog’s ear receives a small nick/cut and requires stitches/gluing and antibiotics, this will be covered by Tailored Tails Grooming LLC. However, unnecessary reconstructive/cosmetic surgery of the ear and discrepancies of a similar nature would not be covered).

8. General Consent

  • I, the dog owner/guardian, understand and hereby agree that all information provided in the general client form is complete and accurate to the best of my knowledge. I further acknowledge and agree to all the terms and conditions within this form and acknowledge  they may be amended from time to time. I further attest that if I am not the sole owner or representative of the dog(s) subject to this application that my agreement of this form is sufficient to enter into this agreement for and behalf of any other owner or representative.
